Rachel McConnell created model of a creature from Escher's artwork "Curl Up!" using 3D-printer Stratasys.
M.C. Escher - Curl Up!
It was a complex exercise in geometry, physics, construction and materials science. She produced several iterations, experimenting with the size of the segmented pieces and various materials. The result surpass all expectations. It's the most realistic model of Escher's Curl Up creature.
