Ink and pencil

This image is an hommage to Escher's work. The painting technique resembles Escher's. In addition, Escher repeatedly used chess pieces in his paintings, for example, in Metamorphoses. A copy of Escher's signature at the bottom of the painting leaves no doubt that the author wanted to pay tribute to the Dutch artist.
