Sandro del Prete
Homage to Leonardo da Vinci
This ambiguous scene is based on Leonardo da Vinci's trip through the Alps on a
mule in 1516. On this trip, Da Vinci carried some valuable paintings, including
the Mona Lisa, which he intended to give to the King of France. During his ride,
he imagines himself creating a painting that depicts his journey over the Alps. If
you focus on his facial characteristics, you might even catch a glimpse of the inner
working of Da Vinci's mind.
